Vernon Martin guest speaker

Vernon Martin (Guest Speaker)- Vernon had an interesting speech that he gave on facts and the meaning behind items/concepts. He first took out the dollar bill and asked the students what it was. The fact is that it is ink on paper. The meaning or value of it is the "means of exchange." which is holds value in our culture. He made me think of how there is facts that have attacted meaning behind it.
He also explained how malls incorprate nature by creating a sense of nature (experience). For example, the window make u feel like your outside, decorations are set up to give a look of outside, which gives that feeling of being outside. This Marketing strategy gives the experience giving the shoper a calm and relax state of mind.
Its also a weird concept to think that people by nature when it should be free right? I like how he brought up different concepts that we never seem to think about. Overall interesting speech to think about.
