Save which species first?

Which species to save?
Its hard to say because the way god created the food chains and food webs everything has a purpose and special "niche,"that the critter or organism helps out with in the survival of life. That he created a perfect system that requires balance management. I guess it's just easier to get people to respond to the "cute and cuddly teddy bear like animals," rather than saving bugs. I think its mostly because a lot of organizations go after peoples emotions to hit a nerve which helps result in the men and women to act in a more humane manner. I'm guilty of these accusation's as well. I know i would be more compelled to save a rare and beautiful snow leopard rather than the "mosquito." I'm sure (on the average) most people would fall into the same category. I think it is our responsibility to manage the species and to help keep balance as much as we can because were helping destroy it as well.
Its all about be accountable for one's actions, looking at other perspectives, and to take other people and species into consideration. I believe the society needs to be more educated on these issues and how we live affects the earth. In the U.S we need more awareness and updated on what animals needed help saving, why, and what they do for the ecosystem. People need to know the consequences of their actions or what could happen if we all don't care.
I also think it should be taught in all grades in school, so children know the their actions make a difference. I believe as of right now our society is considered "uneducated," about these issues and more should be done. Here's the real answer with a better understand of the situations and educated on the subject at hand, it will be easier to take the right steps forward into a better and more sustainable future.

  1. I agree and to a certain extent I think what you're talking about, in regard to education, is already happening. More would be a great help though. I think we could also appeal to peoples desires to save the cute animals as a means of preserving the ones more vital to the ecosystem. It's no good saving a predator if all the food dies out. They'll end up worse off than they started. The chain reaction works two ways.

  2. Yes the food chain gives importance to all the species in it. Some I think are more important than others in that they affect more overall and these should be the species that we focus on. I like agree that this topic should be focused on more in schools at a younger age to help show what can happen if we dont help.
